Craft markets are full of energy—friendly faces, creative displays, and one-of-a-kind items everywhere you look. But not every moment is busy. So, what are we doing behind the booth when things slow down a bit?
At Tokita Kobo, slower times are never wasted time. Here’s how we make the most of it:
1. Brainstorming New Ideas

When the crowd thins, it’s the perfect chance to let our creativity bloom. We chat, sketch, and jot down fresh ideas for new product designs, displays, or future giveaways. Inspiration often strikes in the middle of the market! When we have a relaxing time, it is easy to get new idea.
2. Working on our items.

Our items are all handmade. It takes time to complete. So it is good time to finish our item by handstiching and so on.
3. Connecting with Other Vendors

Craft markets are full of talented makers. When we’re not helping customers, we often walk around (one at a time!) to meet other creators, learn from their displays, and support their work. This is so important to build the community and get some new idea.
4. Recharge and Enjoy the Moment

A warm drink, a small homemade snack (like Yuki’s cake!), or a quiet moment of people-watching can bring joy and restore our energy. These small breaks help us stay refreshed and cheerful for the rest of the day. Also, there are lots of nice snack vendors at the market. It is so fun to find our favorite snack to enjoy coffee.
Even during slower times, the market is full of potential. We see it as a moment to reflect, create, and stay connected to our purpose: sharing culture through craftsmanship.
So, if you catch us scribbling in a notebook or enjoying a donut behind the booth, now you know—we’re still hard at work, just in a quieter way. 😊
