Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to host an origami workshop at a daycare. It was a joyful and meaningful experience to introduce children to the beauty of Japanese paper folding through hands-on play and creativity. We made Christmas sock, Bell, and Santa hat.
Learning Through Play

Beyond being a craft activity, origami helps children develop fine motor skills, concentration, and imagination. The children carefully followed instructions, helped one another, and proudly showed their finished creations. Even those who were new to origami quickly became engaged and confident.
Sharing Japanese Culture at a Young Age

This workshop was also a chance to share a small piece of Japanese culture in a playful and accessible way. Through origami, kids were enjoying Origami paper texture, colours.
A Meaningful Experience for Everyone
Hosting an origami class at a daycare reminded us how powerful simple crafts can be in connecting people across cultures and generations. We are grateful for the opportunity to spend this time with the children and hope this experience inspires their curiosity and creativity in the future.
We look forward to hosting more workshops like this and continuing to share Japanese traditions in everyday life.
